Enjoying Communication

Children learn how to communicate through their everyday interactions with the people around them. As they communicate with a variety of people, they discover new ideas and expand their world.
Our research aims to build a “Communication-Rich Environment for Children Who Are Deaf or Hard of Hearing,” where children can enjoy the moments of “You get me!” and “I get you!” — and become eager to communicate and explore.

Diverse Hearing Experiences

Hearing is such a wonderful gift that helps us connect with others and the world around us. Instead of just trying to "hear every word accurately," we embrace a more personal approach. We’re here to support each person in experiencing sound in their own special way and discovering the joy that hearing can bring. Our goal is to help everyone develop a meaningful and happy relationship with sound that feels just right for them.

Listening Effort

Listening effort is all about the mental energy it takes when you're trying hard to understand speech, especially in tricky listening situations—when your brain has to work extra hard to make sense of what's being said. Research highlights that if this effort stays high for a long time, it can cause fatigue, reduce your concentration, and lead to other challenges that impact everyday life.
